Writing about disability and making it relevant to your coursework task

Make sure you include something like the paragraph below:

‘I have been looking at issues around the way in which disability is represented in TV Dramas. Representation of social groups in our thriller opening is something we need to take some informed decisions about. If we are going to, for example, depict somebody with a condition attached to mental health or a personality disorder then we will need to research this to avoid clichéd or offensive stereotyping.'

How to write about editing in clips

Please see the link below for some good advice on how to write about editing.

Making your TV Drama 'The Fall' textual analysis relevant to your coursework

Post your powerpoint on your blog with the following paragraph:

Although I completed this as part of my study of the representation of gender for my AS exam, it is relevant to the my coursework as, in planning for this, I will need to consider how the representation of gender is constructed through the use of camera shots, mise-en-scene, editing and sound. This will hopefully enable me to represent characters in a variety of different ways in my film opening.

    Booking equipment

    The Media department booking system

All equipment now needs to be booked online:

You need to select from a weekday, weekday evening or weekend booking using the 'Choose' button and then the equipment you require.

You'll need to create a free account, but you'll only need to do this once.

To amend or delete your booking, log in then select where it says 'Hello...' then click 'View appointments'.

    A few general rules:

    - if you're booking equipment out for the weekend, book it for Saturday and Sunday
    - if you're booking for a Friday but intending to take it for the weekend then you need to book it for Saturday and Sunday too
    - don't be greedy by booking loads of stuff out at once or days on end. Especially at busy times around Christmas/January etc
    - bring equipment back to me during registration or to one of the media technical assistants during the time they are available (to be advised) fully charged and without any missing parts (partic tripod plates, lens caps etc)
    - enjoy and explore the equipment but please look after it as if it is your own. We don't have the cheddar to replace broken items.

Blogger confusion - no google + please!

There has been some confusion with blogger and how your site links to the main blog hub. Hopefully this clarifiies it but if not please see me ASAP. 1. You should have set up your OWN blog site. You can do this by clicking 'create new blog' . Put your name, AS Media Studies Foundation Portfolio and your candidate number (if you know it). Do not post directly to our blog hub, this acts just as a gateway for us and the examiner to find their way to your blog site. Also this is where Mrs Rogers and I will be posting advice and guidance and you can also look at each others' blog sites. 2. You need to make sure your blog site is not a google + account otherwise the link on our hub page won't take us or the examiner directly to your blog - it will take them to your google + page which pulls together all of your googly ways. You can change this back by clicking on the link at the bottom of this... https://support.google.com/blogger/answer/1375600?hl=en

Welcome to the Media Studies blog!

     Greetings student people!

This will be the hub for your Media Studies portfolio work. You should be linked in the bottom corner, if not let me know as soon as possible. I will use the blog hub to monitor your work so it is essential that you are uploading/posting everything you have done.

I will be posting information regarding deadlines, course information, practical tips and anything else relevant!

You will also find some of the resources from lessons on here too.

You should be posting regularly and, as this Media Studies, using a variety of methods of presentation to make your blog suuuuuuper cooooool. Ahem.

On the next post there will be a range of ways to do this.
